The beauty of the huge former America´s Cup Yachts is fascination more and more sailors. Despite extremely high costs new boats become built and race become organized.
These new yachts are built with modern materials on old designs - restricted by the class rules.
RENAISSANCE OF THE ELEGANCE
During the 30s has grown a big fleet of J-Class yachts. Nowadays the J-Class has an unexpected renaissance.
The pictures and videos of the J-Class races become watched by millions of people.
If a J-Class is cutting furrows into the water, every passerby is watching. In contrast to most model yachts a J-Class looks like a yacht really.
The reason is the huge headsail, a real genua sheeted like the real sail - without the typical model boat jib boom. Two sheets are towing the sail from one side to the other. The results are very realistic maneuvers.
DECK HOUSES WITH TEAK AND MAHOGANY
The new deck houses for the J-Class are more flat than the C-Class houses, and printed with teak roofs and mahogany panels. So the whole boat looks longer and more elegant.
